Tetsuya Kotake (小竹哲也, Kotake Tetsuya) is a classmate and longtime semi-friend of Doremi's. While he is generally nice and appears to be well-liked by his classmates, he relentlessly picks on Doremi, having given her the nickname "Dojimi".
He enjoys soccer and is a member of the soccer team. He can usually be found with the other guys in his class.
Bio[]
Appearance[]
Kotake has tan skin and round, steel blue eyes. His pointed hair is a darker shade. He wears a yellow top with a red 9 on it, the collar and sleeves are purple. This is paired with denim pants with a purple belt, along with red sneakers with white accents.
Personality[]
Bold and confident, Kotake is considered to be the leader among the boys in his class. He likes typical boy things, like sports. He's not afraid of a fight if someone instigates it, and when frustrated or dealing with someone annoying he can become angry. In comparison to Doremi, he seems to have better control of his temper.
However, he is easily flustered. Especially when caught doing nice things for others -namely the girls or Doremi- since he attempts to keep his kinder side hidden. For as much as he picks on Doremi, he can be found expressing relief for her and the others knowing they are okay, or that things work out for them. He also buys the things Doremi makes, even though he mocks them, as noted by other people throughout the series. He's also given things to her that mean a lot to him, like his soccer ball for her birthday. As a younger boy, he still feels mortified exposing parts of himself to girls, as shown when he was caught undressing by the girls while they were helping out at the bathhouse.
As the series goes on, Kotake is shown maturing and he starts picking on Doremi a lot less. He indirectly confesses that he might have a crush on her, during the final episode of Dokkan.
Ojamajo Doremi 16[]
Kotake was revealed to be the boy Doremi confesses to at the end of the anime. But she was led to believe that he rejected her, which heavily strained the friendship they built up over time. She acts coldly towards him and cut off a portion of her hair to signify their broken bond. Doremi reveals that a lot of girls have a crush on Kotake, due to how much he's matured and grown up.
As the series continues, Doremi and Kotake begin to restore their friendship, and its implied that he does have feelings for her. He intends on bringing her with him to the soccer event that the school team would be attending if they did well enough.
Magical Doremi[]
Kotake Tetsuya was renamed Todd Washington in the dub. He still teases Doremi and acts like a flat-out jerk in this series, harboring no feelings for her at all.
He calls her "Dopey" as a nickname.
