"It's the same. Thread by thread, I wove the same thing. Even if times were different, and putting aside the fact that I'm a witch, I was there and I lived in the moment. My child gave birth to my grandchildren. They fell in love with others and gave birth to my great-grandchildren. The chain of life continues, and my feelings were passed on. The things I did were not useless."
―Majo Tourbillon

Majo Tourbillon is the former Witch Queen's predecessor. She is responsible for casting the Curse of Magic Frogs, thus the overall main antagonist of the series.

Personality[]

Majo Tourbillon is kindhearted with a serene demeanor. However, once she became overwhelmed with negative emotions such as sadness and anger, it consumed her to the point of becoming cruel and frightening.

History[]

Majo Tourbillon ruled as the Witch Queen over one thousand years ago. She was always kind to her subjects, and loved every dish that her personal chef Majo Roxanne made for her.

One day, she disguised herself and snuck into the Human World, where she met a young man named George at a bakery. He was thrilled to show off his various sweets he had made to Tourbillon, who couldn't help but smile. Soon they went on many outings together, where he would always present new cakes to her. Falling in love with each other, George proposed to Tourbillon with his own original cake he made and named after her. Tourbillon asked him if he was sure since he knew she was a witch, and George nodded. After tasting the cake and loving it, she accepted the marriage proposal.

According to the laws of the Witch World, in order to marry a human, the queen must relinquish her crown and abdicate the throne. Majo Tourbillon did not hesitate to do so, even at Majo Roxanne's initial protest. Tourbillon shared a sample of the cake her fiance had made for her with Roxanne, and it helped her understand their love. Tourbillon, with her fairy Baba, then left for the Human World for good to marry George. Soon after that, Tourbillon gave birth to their son, Anri.

Unfortunately, their happy lives did not last. During a trip to the mountains to pick wild raspberries for making another "My Beloved Tourbillon" cake for their two year old son, George lost his footing and fell off a cliff to his death. Tourbillon grieved immensely, and her son became her only reason to live. She raised Anri with endless amounts of love throughout his childhood. Other humans began to take notice that Tourbillon never aged like her son and viewed her with hateful eyes. Many humans threw stones at her and Anri would try to shield his mother as they would escape.

Soon Anri would marry and he and his wife had six children together, but his wife fell ill and passed away shortly thereafter. Permanently settling down in a cottage near coast, Tourbillon changed her appearance back to her natural look and helped her son raise his six children: Ingrid, Natasha, Mary-Anne, Laura, Angela, and Roy.

Using her loom, Tourbillon gave many handwoven gifts to her grandchildren and all of them loved their grandmother dearly. However as they grew up, they too were treated by outcasts by society due to their grandmother's slow aging and longevity. Her grandchildren as adults then collectively decided to leave the household for good. Anri was furious at them, yelling at them for their selfishness after she had taken care of them in place of their late mother. Tourbillon cried it was fine. Roy gave the family tapestry back, asking his grandmother to accept it before following his sisters out the door. Anri angrily watched them leave with his arms around his weeping mother. Roy looked back again having second thoughts, but Natasha and Mary-Anne pulled him away to keep walking.

Several years passed and Tourbillon sat at Anri's side on his deathbed. He passed away peacefully, and Tourbillon cried immensely. She then wrote all of her grandchildren letters, pleading to come back to attend Anri's funeral. Yet she never received any response, and Tourbillon was forced to bury her son herself. At his grave she asked herself if her grandchildren hated her and if humans were such cold creatures. Regretting to have ever loved humans, she went back to the Witch World. She didn't want other witches to experience what she had so she cast the Curse of Magic Frogs to cut off all relations with the Human World. Then she returned to her favorite place in the Witch World, the Love Supreme Forest, where she locked her fairy Baba in her wedding chest and fell into a deep sleep, causing the forest to warp and become the Cursed Forest.

Ojamajo Doremi #[]

Angry at the Ojamajos and current reigning queen for having restored the Wizard World, Majo Tourbillon cast a deadly curse upon Hana making her ill. The girls begged the queen and Majo Heart for any way to save Hana, to which the queen told them about the Love Supreme Flower that could only be found in the Cursed Forest. The girls ventured in and found one lone flower in bloom on a rock pillar. Tourbillon, or rather the manifestation of her negative feelings towards humans, spoke to the girls saying she would not hand over the Love Supreme Flower as she was threatened by Hana's power to break her curse. Tourbillon warned the girls if they wanted to pick the flower they would have to cross the barrier first, but doing so would cause them to fall into a millennium long sleep. The girls did not hesitate, and one by one they attempted to break through. Doremi finally broke through on her attempt and struggled against the curse to crawl up and pick the the flower even as Tourbillon yelled at her to stop. After Doremi picked it before succumbing to the curse, Tourbillon asked why human children would go so far. In the end, after Hana was saved, Hana cried for her mothers to wake up and broke the sleeping curse upon them.

Motto! Ojamajo Doremi[]

During an incident at the Witch Kindergarten's swimming pool, Hana used magic to summon all of the other Witch babies' mothers there, including Doremi. Tourbillon was angered that Hana used magic to bring a human to the Witch World when the moon was not smiling, and decided to punish Hana by casting a curse on her, causing her to hate vegetables so her ability to cast magic would be disrupted.

After several months, the Ojamajos and Hana were finally able to break this curse. Tourbillon was further enraged that the girls had once again thwarted her magic, then decided to formulate a new plan as the girls took their last Patisserie exam. Seeing an opportunity with Momoko, who had been feeling heartache for Majo Monroe during the exam, she knocked the other girls out unconscious and put Momoko in a trance, with her consciousness in her dreams with Monroe while controlling her body to take Hana into the Cursed Forest.

The other girls woke up and chased after Momoko and Hana into the forest, casting magic to force Momoko to hear their voices and wake up. Momoko finally woke from her trance, Hana levitated up and towards the direction she and Momoko were previously headed in, commenting that "Auntie's crying" to the girls.

The girls catch up to Hana inside a cave above a shallow pool. The manifested illusion of Tourbillon appears to the girls and orders them to hand over Hana. Aiko corrects Hana that the former queen's predecessor wasn't crying at all, but Hana pointed above the queen at a large hole in the wall of the cave. Tourbillon then decided to attack the girls by summoning a lightning cloud to strike at them. Onpu counters by creating a lightning rod with her own magic. Tourbillon attacks again with a swarm of venomous snakes. Hazuki recognizes them as pit vipers, so she casts magic to summon mongoose to counter them as well.

As Tourbillon prepares make a third attack, Momoko cries for her to stop bullying them because they understood how she felt. Tourbillon scowled that petty human children could never understand her feelings. Momoko opened up about how deeply saddened she was when Majo Monroe passed away before her eyes, but no longer feels this way because has many happy memories that she made with Majo Monroe which she will forever treasure, and as a result Majo Monroe will always live on in her heart. Tourbillon replied that she didn't have any happy memories, lamenting that her husband went to Heaven and left her to raise their son by herself throughout his life while other humans showed hate towards them. Momoko asks if she was still happy with her husband, to which Tourbillon threw a wave of magic energy at her. Doremi pushed Momoko down just in time before it could hurt either of them.

Doremi steps forward and inquires the queen about why the latter had ripped out the page of the Illusionary Recipe from the Recipe Diary. Tourbillon responds with more magic blasts, and Hana attempts to counter with her own magic, but Doremi lectures Hana that they shouldn't use magic to fight. Tourbillon asks the girls why they don't fear her, but Doremi confirms that they do fear her, but their desire to befriend her is stronger.

The current Witch Queen and the entire Witch Senate arrive and hold out their crystals. Tourbillon believed they were about to attack with magic so she prepared as well, but was surprised when all of them purposely dropped their crystals into the water as a means of showing their peaceful intentions. Doremi and the other girls immediately get to work on making another "My Beloved Tourbillon" cake within the cave, as Tourbillon and the remaining witches watch.

With the cake finished, Doremi cuts a slice to put on a plate and holds it up to offer. Hana flies over to take the slice up to her, pulling it apart in half. Hana eats one half of the slice and forcibly offers the other half to Tourbillon, pushing it into her mouth. Tourbillon was then overwhelmed with fond memories of her husband's marriage proposal, as well as serving the same cake to her beloved son when he was a toddler and again as an elderly man. She softly wept as the large hole in the cave wall behind her shined light while her body turned white, being purified of anger and hate. Her body disintegrated, and the cave disappears. Majo Roxanne, who waited outside the forest with Majo Rin, Majo Rika, Lala, and Pop, recognized the song that was coming from the forest as the melody of Tourbillon's music box. The Cursed Forest was reverting back to its true appearance as the Love Supreme Forest.

The Ojamajos, Hana, the Witch Queen, and the Witch Senate follow the source of the music to a gigantic Tree of Life stump with a large hole on the side covered in vines and surrounded by numerous Love Supreme flowers. As they approach, most of the vines disappeared, which had been covering the music box wedding chest on the ground inside. Doremi looks at the remaining six vines and her gaze followed them up above, where Majo Tourbillon slept. Hana points up and tells Doremi "that's the crying Auntie". Majo Don confirms Hana's observation and the Witch Queen concludes that the "Tourbillon" they saw before was just an illusion created by her deep sadness.

The Witch Queen approaches closer to awaken her so she could break the Curse of Magic Frogs, but the music box snaps close and the remaining six vines send electrified magic down to act as a force field. Everyone backs out of the tree stump to safety. The Witch Queen tells the girls to stay optimistic, as they have made a great deal of progress and now the last step is to remove the six vines that bind her.

Ojamajo Doremi Dokkaan![]

Shortly after the Cursed Forest returned to normal as the Love Supreme Forest, the Witch Queen and Hana went to visit Majo Tourbillon while she slept. Hana put her hand on wedding chest, causing it to unlock and open up, with Baba levitating out of it.
