Hana-chan

Hana (巻機山 花, Makihatayama Hana) is a baby entrusted to Doremi and the other apprentices after they witnessed her birth from the Blue Rose, signifying her as the future Witch Queen. In Dokkan, Hana uses magic to grow older so that she can join the girls and become the final apprentice to join the group.

Bio[]

Hana was raised by the Ojamajo over the span of a few years, where they taught her to walk, play, make friends and eat.

Appearance[]

BabyHana-lowres

Hana has fair skin and big brown eyes. Her thick, long lemon hair is worn in a pair of pigtails that curl on end, bound by pink scrunchies with a white wing on each one. Her short bangs face the left.

Her casual attire consists of a white shirt with wing-like sleeves and an orange collar. On the chest are pink flowers with dots. Her denim short-shorts have a pink heart shaped pocket on each leg, and she wears orange and white sneakers with a pink pom-poms on the back.

As a baby in Sharp, Hana's hair was worn in a ponytail that split at the middle, resembling a sprouting leaf. It was held by a colorful sphere chain. She was normally seen in a white one-piece outfit, or a white and pink outfit with green accent.

In Motto, she started wearing her hair in pigtails, held by colorful baubles. Her one-piece outfit became pink and she wore a white bib with hot pink detail and gold ornament.

Personality[]

Hana is a childish and innocent little girl with a big heart. She can be a little selfish or come across as rude sometimes, due to how simple-minded she is. She usually has good intentions, but because she still possesses the mind of a young child, she tends to go about things wrongly or is likely to worsen the situation. But at the same time, her naive and simple personality allows her to make friends with others pretty easy.

Normally she is very sweet and kind, but she will still throw tantrums when she's unhappy or becomes upset. She isn't spoiled by the attention others give her, although she does like to be given attention. She loves her "mommies" very much and would do anything for them.

Witch Apprentice[]

Hana became a Witch Apprentice after her sudden outburst caused her magic crystals to shatter and her body to physically grow into that of a young girl. Everyone was shocked to see her when she suddenly showed up one day, back in Misora, and she was tasked by the Witch Queen to begin taking her Apprentice exams alongside Pop.

Hana wears a unique Apprentice uniform that differs from the others.

Her fairy is Toto, and her crystal ball is a white sphere.

Background[]

Every 100 years, a new Witch Queen will be born within the Blue Rose Garden. The girls snuck into the Witch World in order to return an item to Majorika and stumbled across the blue rose garden, where they witnessed Hana's birth. Because of this miraculous event, they were put in charge of raising her for the next year.

After being forced to part from Hana-chan, the girls were later tasked by the Witch Queen to help her overcome the curse placed upon her that made her hate vegetables.

Relationships[]

Doremi[]

Hana and Doremi became bonded at first sight, as Doremi was the first person Hana saw when she opened her eyes. Initially, Doremi struggled when it came to getting along with Hana; who would frequently make a fuss and pee on her when they interacted. But once she began to take the role of mothering more seriously, Doremi became very close and protective of Hana. They have similar personalities and Hana can often be found turning to Doremi for comfort or looking towards her for advice or help. They both love steak and the same television programs.

Hazuki[]

Hana loves Hazuki very much, but isn't shown to interact with her as much as the others. Hazuki enjoys making things for Hana and will help her when she can.

Aiko[]

At first, Aiko was afraid of being a bad mother to Hana, but Hana loved her a lot and both she and Haruka showed her that just because her methods of love (masculine rather than soft and gentle) were different didn't take away her mothers love. They are shown to be good friends in Dokkan, although Aiko often expresses frustration with her sometimes and is stern towards her when necessary.

Onpu[]

Although Onpu was really busy when she was little, Hana loves their special bonding time whenever Onpu made up for it by spending the evening with her. She is one of the few girls shown to be strict with Hana and get her to realize her mistakes, but Hana understands that it comes from love. Hana can tell when she's sad or feeling unwell, and she leans on her influence at times.

Momoko[]

With Momoko being new to the group and having no past experiences with Hana, she had a lot to prove to be seen as a worthy mother. After recovering from her illness and encouraging Momoko to keep trying, Hana quickly took to her. In Dokkan, they were classmates with Doremi, where Momoko is shown to disapprove Hana and her decision to change the Maho-do with her magic sometimes. Nonetheless, they still remain good friends who work together and can often be found with each other.

Pop[]

Pop happily sees herself as Hana's big sister figure and tries to help to the extent that she can. Hana likes her, and due to their young age, they are shown to bond easily. In Dokkān, Pop sometimes got annoyed by Hana's progress as an Apprentice, but still enjoys Hana's company when she tries to help her. In Na-i-sho, they were revealed to be envious of each other for the things one has.
