Bio[]

Appearance[]

Doremi has fair skin and long red hair normally worn up in large twin buns tied by pink scrunchies, one of which has a yellow music note. Her bangs are cut short with a bunch sticking up on the side. She has round, mulberry eyes.

Originally, Doremi wore a carnation pink T-shirt with a purple tank-top and loose, dull pink denim shorts. Her pale pink socks are worn with fuchsia and white sneakers that have a stripe of hot pink around the sole and peach shoelaces.

Beginning with Mōtto!, Doremi wore her T-shirt with a purple zipped vest with pocket, paired with lilac shorts and a belt. Her socks become knee-length and her shoelaces turned white.

Personality[]

Doremi is a childish and clumsy girl described as "troublesome" by others. She can be selfish and impulsive, so she gets into trouble a lot. This has led to self-loathing on her part, and Doremi struggles to find anything that she can do well. She gets jealous of others over trivial things, but she moves on fairly quick. She doesn't linger on things that bother her very long, unless she was truly offended. Throughout the series, Doremi would proclaim herself to be "the unluckiest pretty girl in the whole world" whenever bad things happen to her.

However, one of Doremi's best qualities is her kind heart, doing whatever she can even if she doesn't necessarily like the person. Although it makes her appear nosy, Doremi has also gained several friends because of her tenacity and well-meaning gestures. Others tend to misunderstand Doremi, which frustrates her a lot when she gets teased as a result.

She's a big eater and loves romantic things. She frequently gets crushes on boys and shows her determination in her attempts to get closer to them. Even to the point of picking up their hobbies to try to have something in common with them.

Witch Apprentice[]

Doremi is the pink witch apprentice and the reason the term "ojamajo" was invented. Initially, she expressed concern over becoming a Witch Apprentice until she realized she could perform magic, something that interested her. She began to enjoy it after convincing her friends, Hazuki Fujiwara and Aiko Senoo to join her.

As the first Apprentice, she is normally seen as the leader of the group. This leads her to sometimes get jealous of the other girls when they perform better, as she is supposed to be their senior. Her personality is best shown when she attempts to cast spells, in which they would rarely work as intended if she felt hungry, flustered or became distracted. At first, Doremi had a habit of making greedy spells due to her gluttonous nature.

She has a pink bean-shaped crystal ball and her fairy is Dodo.

Spells[]

  • Transformation: Pretty Witch Doremicchi! (プリティー・ウィッチー・どれみっちー!)
  • Spell: Pirika Pirilala Poporina Peperuto! (ピリカピリララ ポポリナペペルト!)
  • Magical Stage Pirika Pirilala, Nobiyaka ni! (ピリカピリララ のびやかに!)

Background[]

When Doremi was a child, she was very curious about the world and enjoyed experiencing new things for the first time, usually getting into them without knowing any better. Her mother taught her how to play the piano, which ended in disaster after Doremi forgot how to play during a recital. However, this event led to her first bite of steak, and it went on to become her most favorite food.

Doremi's mother has said that when she was a child, she acted a lot like how Pop does. Doremi tried to be mature, but became jealous of Pop and didn't like the attention she got. So she tried pushing Pop away — possibly explaining why they aren't close at the start of the series.

The beginning of the series reveals that Doremi has always had an interest in magical things. She dreamed of meeting or becoming a witch someday.

Relationships[]

Hazuki[]

Doremi and Hazuki have been friends since kindergarten. Their personalities often support one another as Doremi acts as encouragement for Hazuki, while Hazuki acts as a voice of reason for Doremi. Doremi takes Hazuki's advice to heart and often worries over her, refusing to leave her when she knows she needs help.

She tends to underestimate her shyness and sensitivity, which has led to disputes. She also doesn't understand why she enjoys "cold jokes".

Aiko[]

Originally, Doremi didn't particularly like Aiko because of her behavior. But she quickly got to see the good person she was on the inside and they became close friends. They were also able to get close due to sharing minor traits in common. Doremi admires Aiko to some extent, while Aiko became another voice of reason for her. But while Hazuki is more delicate, Aiko was shown to be more openly honest and was the one who could usually persuade Doremi to reconsider her actions.

Onpu[]

Despite Onpu being antagonistic at first, Doremi was friendly and affectionate around her and thought she was adorable. She was dismayed realizing Onpu was their rival and really cares about her, which played a role in why Onpu stopped using Forbidden Magic and eventually joined the group.

Momoko[]

After being put in the same class and realizing how much they have in common, Doremi quickly befriended Momoko after she got off on the wrong foot with the others.

Hana[]

Hana sees Doremi as her "true mother" due to seeing her first upon birth. As a baby, Hana spent most of her time in Doremi's care as she wasn't as busy as the others, and Doremi treated Hana like her real daughter. Therefore, Doremi is very sensitive about Hana's well-being and can let her concerns for her get in the way of some relationships, and she can make some brash decisions. However, Doremi learned from her mistakes and maturely began to take care of her. Even after Hana grows up, Doremi still sees her as her daughter and takes care of her.

Tetsuya Kotake[]

DoremiXkotake

Doremi and Kotake

Doremi and Kotake have been classmates for six years. They have a bad relationship and he didn't waste time teasing her, which usually caused her to react with violence or aggression. Kotake calls her "Dojimi", a pun on her name and the Japanese word for clumsy. However, Doremi comes to see him as a friend and feels at ease when she knows he is fine. She eventually gains feelings for him at the end of the series.

Reika Tamaki[]

Doremi is unable to get along with Tamaki due to her arrogant and spoiled personality. But she still cares about her happiness and safety, and will help her when she knows she needs it. Later in the series, they eventually gain mutual respect for each other and begin to get along.

Pop[]

Doremi and Pop didn't get along at the start of the series, mainly because Pop appeared to be more responsible, reliable and put-together than her. They picked on each other like typical sisters and Dormei complained about her a lot. She took pride in being able to do things Pop was unable to as the older sister, like staying up to take the Witch Apprentice exams. At the same time, Doremi respects Pop and tries to protect her. She asks others to treat her with kindness and consideration of her age.

Akatsuki[]

Doremi was the only girl in the group who fell in love with her counterpart in FLAT4. Her feelings for him remained well into Dokkān!, where Doremi ended up choosing Kotake over him during their field trip after realizing Akatsuki cheated over their game of paper sumo with the former.

Kayoko Nagato[]

In Mōtto!, Doremi helped Kayoko by becoming a friend she could trust and helped her overcome her fear of going to school.

Magical DoReMi[]

In Magical DoReMi, Doremi has been renamed Dorie Goodwyn. Although Doremi was emotional, Dorie yells a lot and she appears to be more simple-minded. She didn't say Doremi's catchphrase. At one point, she said she owned a cat.
